Despatch Manager – SY13 Whitchurch

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Dispatch Manager to oversee our warehouse operations. This role operates within the Despatch area of the Plant in order to introduce and manage systems and procedures. Although the role reports to the Factory Manager, there is also a requirement to liaise with Sales and Transport Management and Co-ordinators to cover much of the responsibilities. The main purpose of the role is to manage and co-ordinate the training and activities of the personnel involved in order picking, scanning and loading to meet all relevant safety, quality, environmental and productivity standards

Main Responsibilities:

· Development, implementation and management of Standard Operating Procedures in the plant.

· Ensuring that all personnel and operations comply with Health and Safety requirements.

· Identifying training requirements and managing an effective programme of in-house training for all Despatch operatives.

· Managing holidays and absence of staff employed in Despatch.

· Ensuring all pertinent records and documentation are managed and maintained.

· Ensuring all relevant operations comply with productivity, quality, health and safety and customer requirements.

· Managing loading and unloading operations for goods-in safely and efficiently, avoiding potential noise issues that could adversely impact on the local community.

· Manage robot palletiser, order picking and associated procedures to minimise manual stacking and handling.

· Manage stock control and maintain accurate reporting of these to Sales.

· Other management and supervision roles within the plant if required to suit business needs.

Preferred skills and/or qualifications:

· Computer literate, particularly with regard to Microsoft Office and spreadsheets.

· Management experience and/or formal training

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Proven coaching and training skills.
